Stunning antique, Victorian era, coloured glass basket with crimped edges and a decorative twisted thorn branch handle. Gorgeous colours. The fluted basket is a yellow/green (possibly vaseline glass) that fades into an opalescent aqua blue. Whilst the crimped edges and inside of body are smooth, the external body is rough to touch - like crackle glass. Handblown with pontil to base. A unique, good sized, really lovely piece. In great condition considering age. A very small section of the rim (1cm approx) is rough to touch - not really visible unless you look for it and does not detract at all. There is also a small dark spot to base and a couple of small spots to handle which would have occured during the blowing process - probably cinder (all shown in final photos). Height to top of handle 22cm, width to basket 21cm approximately.
