Boxed Vintage HALCYON DAYS 'Changing Guards' Enamel Round Trinket Box
Epitomising all things English, this is a very collectible and wonderful piece of Royal memorabilia by renowned English HALCYON DAYS. A really lovely hand-painted small enamel trinket box 'Changing Guards Buckingham Palace'. Outside lid is inscribed with the words "They're changing guard at Buckingham Palace" from the famous A.A.Milne poem. Inside lid is inscribed "Second Battalion Scots Guards" (responsible for guarding the King's residence) whilst the outside of the box is a full scene of the guards marching before the palace gates. Handcrafted using traditional 18th century techniques of enamelling on copper, finished with a 24k gold-plated mount. In original Halcyon Days presentation box and in fantastic condition. Makers mark to base. Height 5cm approximately.
